The Coolest People I Have Ever Met!

The coolest people I’ve ever met have the most colorful pasts.

They’ve lived lives of risk, made bad choices, learned lessons, explored,

and they’re not afraid of being real.

Tattered tapestries woven of similar threads, they’re my kind of people.

Step 5 at C/R...

We admitted to God, to ourselves, and  to another human being

the Exact nature of our wrongs.

Therefore confess your sins to each other

and pray for each other so that you may be healed.

James 5:16a

Does the thought of following the instructions in this step scare you?  What panics you the most: admitting to God or admitting to yourself?  Or, is what frightens you the most admitting your shortcomings and struggles to another person?  Is that because of what many say, “We Christians sometimes eat our own.”

Yes, if we were told to just tell others our faults, it would be very, very scary.  Thank goodness, there is a second part to James 5;16, which is … and pray for each other.   We are told to pray for each other and not so that the other person is healed.  But,.. You pray, so that you, personal, are healed.  This verse says we all need prayer.  Yup, because we all have faults, shortcomings, made mistakes, have pains, and have done dumb things.

Yet, reaching out, for help with our hurts, hang-ups, and harmful habits, is not easy.  At C/R, you will find a group of people who have looked at their own lives and realized that we have all sinned and fallen short.  Not just one person, but all of us.

Don’t believe that .. well this is what C.S. Lewis says, “Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another ______.

“What! You too?  I thought I was the only one!”

Please join us Tuesday Nights to find a group of friends,

the coolest people you will ever meet,

who are accepting, caring and here to help.
